Four Corners Quilters Guild Meeting December 19th, 2006
President Pam Braeckell & welcomed members & Guests opened the meeting.
39 members in attendance
No Guest
Minutes from last month were reviewed & change needed in motion to accept Donna Hill & not Donna Edwards made budget. Motion to pass minutes was made by Judy McCoy & Marion Williams. Guild members passed minutes.
Review of Treasurer’s Report was made. There was a discussion about the cost of the last speaker & the workshop. A suggestion was made to have members pay for classes in advance. Board to look at having members pay for classes at least one month in advance. Motion to accept Treasurer’s report was made by Fran McDaniel & Debbie Dutch Kelly. Members passed motion.
Committee Reports:
Newsletter-Sherry Purcell. Request that anything needed in the Newsletter needs to be to her by the first Friday of the month.
Library- Carol Reed had nothing new to report.
Trip Planner-Charlotte Duke is planning a Shop Hop in March.
Donation Quilt-Arlene Schuberger / Cynthia Workes 2008 Quilt are currently looking at patterns.
Fran McDaniel for 2007 Quilt will have Quilt to show at the Jan. Meeting.
Quilt Show-still need a chairman for this year.
Web Master-Marolyn Medders had nothing new to report.
Retreat Planner-Marion Williams & Donna Underwood are planning the next Retreat for March 17th.
Charity-Chadalee Durham; members voted on the new Charity for the year; voted on four different charities & the Children’s Haven won the most votes for the Charity.
Membership-Barb Pipkin, Ruth Pendleton, & Lynn Alexander; nothing new to report.
Program-Erin Wampler; will have speakers for the January meeting. (Co-chairman still needed)
Project-Terri Hershey, Block of the Month Capital T Block with Lt. Blue/Dark Blue/yellow. It was requested that colors requested for each month to be used. 6" square Snow Flake blocks, Fat quarters Red. Secret Pal forms were completed. Beckie Hail won the Blocks of the Month.
Nothing new to report for Old Business & New Business.
Show & Tell:
Marolyn Medders: Pink Hearts & Frogs
Judy McCoy: Victorian Sampler
Donna Edwards: Sisters Choice Depression Prints & Quilt Blocks won from last month.
Cynthia Workes: Turning Twenty Again
Karl McDaniel: Chocolate Fabric all done on the Bias
Fran McDaniel: brought fabric from another Cruise; St. Thomas tie die fabric & from Nassau Peach with leaves & green with Dolphin fabric.
Sherry Purcell: had aprons she had made using Holiday Pot holders & towels. Also had a car/truck quilt.
Tina Giebel: had 2 quilts to show.
Now have a First Aide Kit available to have at the meetings & workshops.

Had break to eat & play Bingo with blocks made from material.
Then had gift exchange the dirty Santa way.
Meeting was adjourned after the last gift was opened.

There have been several requests for a recipe for the spicy cream cheese dip that was brought to the Christmas party . So if you brought anything that might be this please let me know so this can be published in the newsletter.

Two Sisters from Squirrel Hollow will be here on the 23rd. They will be speaking to us on the Art of Memorial Quilts. You’ll get a chance to see their charming patterns that work great with 5” charm packs!
February
Kathy Delaney from Overland Park, Kansas will be visiting us with an informational talk on “Color - The Mystery Solved”. She will be giving a class that afternoon (February 27th) on foundation paper piecing, “everything you wanted to know but were afraid to ask”. The class will be from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and will cost $25. Feel free to stay and sew until the meeting, you may get the project finished in time for show and tell that night! I will have a sign up sheet and supply list at the January meeting.
