                      Message from the President

Hello Quilters!

I am personally glad that May is over.  I was too busy to sew very much and I really needed to have the therapy that sewing gives me.  I’m looking forward to working on some new projects.

Erin is working on a new program for us at the June meeting.  As you know, we won’t be having the Quilt Bus here for our meeting.  Mechanical difficulties.  I don’t know any details about our program, but I love a good surprise.

Don’t forget to bring your show and tell.  I’ll see you at the June meeting.

                                          Program News

 June

Hope you’re sitting down for this! I'm going to be the speaker for our June meeting! Yep, you read that right.

I’ve done some searching and have found a list of items around the house that can help us with our quilting addiction.

I will also share some low-cost ideas with you so you’ll have more $$ to spend on fabric!!!

July

It will be time once again for our guild picnic!! We will have a showing of our brown bags this month and of course

enjoying the wonderful food everyone will be bringing! J Please bring a salad, dessert, meat dish or whatever you feel

like whipping up (remember to bring utensils to go along with your dish). Thanks!

The past few years have brought us many dips and desserts that everyone has fell in love with. So, at the July meeting,

please bring your name and recipe written down and turn into me that night. If we do this over the next few months we

could get quite a variety going. (I sure would like the Twinkie dessert recipe we had in April, it was awesome!)

Bittersweet quilt shop will be vending so be thinking of those fall projects that will need to be started on!

August

Our speaker will be Judy Wampler and her program will be, Stepping into Literature – block by block.

Judy has made over 20 small and miniature quilts to go along with several children’s books and will share those with us.

What a neat gift that would make for a grandchild, niece, nephew or anyone!

She will also be offering a workshop on making a miniature quilt. The cost is $30 and includes all the materials needed

to complete your mini! You will have two miniatures to choose from; Delectable Mountains or Honeybee. I will show

examples of both at the June meeting.

Hope your summer is off to a great start! As always, if you have any questions at all, please feel free to call or email me.

Thanks,

Erin
