Carol –

Theme
for May is “May Flowers”.
Hope
everyone makes a block!!!
This
is your chance to step outside what you
might normally do and try something new.
Sometimes blocks may seem challenging, but
it’s good to learn something
new. Trying new
blocks will build your
confidence to make more challenging blocks and quilts.
Reminder: If
you’re participating in the “Brown Bag” project, at the May
meeting, you need to turn in your brown bags
with the second border on.
If you
have checked out Library Books, please
remember to bring them back!!!!!!
A lady in one of my online groups posted the following. I thought it was a hoot and that you might
get a chuckle out of it too.
Good Advice
Advice from
a Singer Sewing Manual from 1949.
“Prepare yourself mentally for sewing.
Think about what you are going to do…never approach sewing with a sigh
or lackadaisically. Good results are
difficult when indifference predominates.
Never try to sew with a sink full of dirty dishes or beds unmade. When there are urgent housekeeping chores, do
these first so your mind is free to enjoy your sewing. When you sew, make yourself as attractive as
possible. Put on a clean dress. Keep a little bag full of French chalk near
your sewing machine to dust your fingers at intervals. Have your hair in order, powder and lipstick
on.
(If) you are constantly fearful
that a visitor will drop in or your husband will come home and you will not
look neatly put together, you will not enjoy your sewing as you should.”

I NEED HELP!!!
I found out today
that a friend (like a grandson to me) will be a first time daddy in
September. They are expecting a boy and
are planning on a “puppy dog” theme. I
need suggestions or links to patterns.
Also, I will be looking for dog-related fabric. I will probably try to do something
colorful. I did find this web site with
doggie prints. I do have something in
mind and would like a doggie panel with possibly 12” squares. http://www.gointothedogs.com/DOG%20FABRIC.htm
If you are needing
help or are looking for something special, please let me know and I’ll put it
in the newsletter.
