Theme for January is “Brighten Up Winter”.

January’s Block – A stained glass’ star

 

Need:  white on white 9 ½” by 9 ½”, blue fabric at least that big, ½” black bias tape.

Start with a 9 ½” by 9 ½” square of a white on white or solid white fabric.  Press in half one way and then the other to mark the middle point.

Next apply fusible web according to it’s directions on a blue fabric.  Use the star pattern as a guid to cut out your star and proceed to put it in the middle of your white square.

Next comes the bias tape.  If you have fusible iron on tape, iron it around the edges and through the middle as indicated on pattern.  If you do not have fusible, you can pin or baste the bias tape on. 

Using black thread, stitch alone both edges of the bias tape.
