Girl's Favorite Block

You need 3 fabrics for this block: a WOW, or white, and 2 mediums. We will be making this one 12" finished.
Use Christmas colors this time, they can have a print on them if you wish. Let’s give someone a Christmas quilt!

Sewing Instructions:
- Mark diagonal on wrong side of all 3-1/2" squares of Red; match right sides to one corner of 6-1/2" square of WOW; stitch on diagonal; press toward corner. Repeat on other 3 corners.

- Mark diagonal on the wrong side of the 4-1/2" WOW squares; match right sides together with Green and #2 4-1/2" squares; stitch 1/4" on either side of the diagonal mark; cut apart on diagonal mark; press toward Medium fabric.

- Mark diagonal on wrong side of HSTs with Red; match right sides together with WOW on opposite Green...butt seams carefully; stitch 1/4" on either side of diagonal mark; cut apart on diagonal mark; press either way. Square up to 3-1/2".

- Attach 2 Quarter square triangles from step#3 together; press seams in direction of arrow.

- Attach 3-1/2" squares of WOW to either end of 2 units from step#4; press seam toward end squares.

- Attach last 2 units from step#4 to opposite sides of unit from step#1; press seam toward center unit.

- Attach rows from step#5 to either side of unit from step#6 creating the block; press seams toward outer rows.
IMPORTANT: Please square up your finished block to be sure it is 12-1/2". If it is larger or smaller, check your seams and redo if necessary. If you do not check your measurements, your block may not join properly with other blocks easily to create a finished quilt.
