PROGRAM: March’s program on March 18th. Workshop begins at 9:00AM at the First Presbyterian Church on 6th & Pearl Street. Class is currently full. Lecture is scheduled for 1:00PM on Crazy Quilts. The evening Lecture for our Guild will be on Judging of quilts. April program is scheduled to have Alisha Gentry from Pea Ridge AK. Workshop is available & will cost $15. It will be in the afternoon & 2 patterns will be available. Money being collected now. Post date checks for April 22nd. Lecture will follow in the evening for the Guild.

PROJECT:  Brown bag project starts, bags going out at this meeting. Next month when block is returned it will go out 3 times for boarders. Make sure the bags get picked up & returned for the full 3 times/months. Any block OK but no larger than an 18 inch square. Members had a discussion on the block of the month participation & on the six inch squares & fat quarters. Participation has decreased on all of them. Some members have complaints that they don’t like to do the fabric swap because they often don’t get good quality fabric in return. All fabric needs to be 100% cotton & good quality. After discussion & voting it was decided to continue to do the Blocks of the Month but give them to Charity for the Charity Quilts. Anyone who wants to do the six inch blocks & fat quarters can bring them in for exchange. New members want the opportunity to participate in this.

OLD BUSINESS: Guild still needs a member for Co-Program chair to work with Sherry so they will be ready to do the Programs for next year. Charlotte Duke volunteered to fill this position.

NEW BUSINESS: Spring River Quilt Show. April 24th 9AM-4PM. Quilt Show is for the Residents. Quilts are brought out & picked up on the same day.

Theme for March is “Welcome Spring”.   Hope everyone makes a block!!!    This is your chance to step outside what you might normally do and try something new.  Sometimes blocks may seem challenging, but it’s good to learn something new.  Trying new blocks will build your confidence to make more challenging blocks and quilts.

March’s Block – Baskets – Quilter’s choice of basket blocks.  Block is to be 12 ½ “ unfinished and will finish to 12”

Reminder:  If you’re participating in the “Brown Bag” project, the bags and guidelines were passed out at the February meeting.  At the March meeting you need to turn in your brown bags with blocks.

If you have checked out Library Books, please remember to bring them back!!!!!!

Note:  Prints of Peace is now open again for business.  The location has changed to the corner of Jefferson & Main in Anderson.  There is parking on all four sides of the building.  Enter at the Main Street door.
