                      Message from the President

Happy Halloween! Another fiscal year at the guild is coming to an end, but new beginnings are coming around the corner. The new officers will take over during the October meeting and we'll be looking forward to new ideas and programs. I just want to say THANK YOU to all of the officers and chairpersons that served for the past year. Thanks for your help and hard work. See you at the next meeting.

FOUR CORNERS QUILTERS GUILD GENERAL MEETING AGENDA OPEN MEETING-WELCOME EVERYONE-INTRODUCTION OF GUESTS WITH MEMBERS. (7:00) 57 members present & 4 guest present. INTRODUCTION OF GUEST SPEAKER OR PROGRAM   Patricia Knoechel, Eleanor Burn's Sister PROGRAM   Patricia has been traveling recently in the Four States Area.  She showed quilts from the new book with appliqué designs.  She also showed a Scottie Dog quilt with different outfits, flower wall hangings, & charm square quilts.  Patricia was presented with a Four Corners Quilters Guild member pin.  She had books for sale & was signing books. SHOW & TELL (8:10) Our very talented members had a lot of beautiful quilts to show!  Star quilt, Tuning Twenty quilt, Large green quilt, Halloween quilt, Star quilt, Rag quilt with many colors, Witch Halloween quilt, Mini quilt, Large Snowman Beach Quilt, Winnie the Pooh quilt, Circle blocks quilt, Star/Bear paw quilt, child quilt with bright colors on black, blue/brown lattice work, & blue/yellow quilt. BREAK 8:30 For wonderful snacks & shopping!

PUBLICITY:

LIBRARY: Books were out. Judy McCoy donated a miniature quilt book. Patricia Knoechel/Program speaker donated magic Vine Book.

TRIP PLANNER:

DONATION QUILT: Blocks for the new quilt are being sewn together. Please return blocks by next month. Ticket sales for Guild donation quilt continue. Fran, Carl & Judy sold tickets recently at Block by Block.   Reminder each club member must sale at least 10/$10. Denise Gregory won a prize for 20 tickets being sold this month.   Only have 2 meetings left to turn in ticket money.

QUILT SHOW: Application for quilts to show at the Quilt Show is Available.   2007 Maple Leaf Quilt Show will be from October 10th through the 31 at Powers Museum in Carthage, Missouri. Sponsored by Four Corners Quitter's Guild

WEB MASTER: Nothing new to report.

RETREAT PLANNER: 20 people were at the recent retreat.

CHARITY: Pull-ups & night lights were provided to Children's Haven. They need twin-size quilts.

MEMBERSHIP: Nothing new to report

PROGRAM: Next month we have our Birthday Celebration; UFO's are due or pay penalty, Trunk Show.

NEW BUSINESS: Proposed Budget for 2007-2008 was discussed, Sherry & Fran motioned for further discussion to be tabled until next month meeting, motion was passed.

Change in Standing Rule #1 . Dues: Annual dues of $15.00 are payable in October. Dues for those joining in April or after will be one-half the annual dues.
