                      Message from the President

Hello Friends!

So many exciting opportunities coming our way in September.  The Shop Hop, Newtonia Quilt Show, and our own retreat.  Shopping and sewing!  It just doesn’t get any better than that!

I hope you were able to attend the shop hop.  All of the shops had so many beautiful fabrics and great projects last year.  I’m sure it will be the same again this year.

The retreat is just around the corner.  Don’t forget to let Marion know if you’re coming.  We always have a great time and get projects done too.  Please join us.

Don’t forget to keep selling those quilt tickets.  The drawing is at the November meeting.  It’s a beautiful quilt.

Pam

8 Ways To Ruin Your and Everyone Else’s Quilt Class

    • Completely disregard the supply list. Don’t be bothered with those pesky supply lists  If you do bring supplies,
    • don’t worry about being product specific.
    • If the class calls for a sewing machine, do not take the time to test its capabilities. Heck you can try it out when you’re there.
    • If the instructor is offering a book or pattern for the class, do not buy it.  I m sure you will take good enough   .notes…Better  yet,
    • break the copyright laws and photocopy the pattern from someone else
    • Bring your children/grandchildren    everyone loves kids! Especially when they are monopolizing class time and taking away from
    • the focus of the class.
    • Cell phone on at ALL times.  The constant ringing or beeping is not distracting at all.
    •  Don’t be shy…tell us all what you think.  Make sure you tell the teacher and all the other students exactly how much you know
    • about the project.
    • Compare your work to th ose around you.  Forget that we all are on different levels and that some may have a bit more experience
    • with the process or technique.
    •  And finally forget that you’re there to take part in your favorite hobby. Enjoying yourself is not an option.
